What is New in This Build of WBAR 6 for Windows ?

 
This build includes a change in the way WBAR handles postal bulk mail permits. In previous versions, if your department used a bulk mail permit when printing the bills, the permit was a graphic image which had to be "imbedded" into the bill form layout. It also makes expanded use of the wallpaper background in primary forms and deploys the Google mapping feature which allows you to display a map of the service address location from Google's online internet map service.
 
Changes to the Bulk Mailing Permit on Billing Forms
Under this version of WBAR, the graphic is constructed of four lines of text and uses a preset box which will appear in the upper right corner of your laser printed billing form. When you tell WBAR to send bills to your laser printer, the Print Bills dialog box will appear. Click on the Bill Form Setup to bring up the Billing Form Setup box. If you want to use a bulk mail permit, you must enter text into any of the four lines in the bill form setup box (see below). Clicking on the OK button will save the setup information.
 
You only need to setup the billing form one time since the information is stored on disk for you and used each time you print bills. You can change the setup information any time prior to printing the bills. Clicking on the Clear button will leave the bulk permit lines empty and will result in only the stamp box being printed on the actual bill. You can also select either the 5 digit or 9 digit zip code format to print on your bills.

Q: Why was this change made?
 
A:  To allow greater flexibility in bill layout and to eliminate the need to imbed graphics into the bill layout form, a process which the user could not perform.
 
Q: Do I have to use the new layout?
 
A: No, but it is recommended that you do. If you decide that you want to keep using your imbedded graphic and your existing bill layout, you must save your lasrbill.rpt layout file before installing this update. The file is located in the c:\wbar5\data\ folder. Save it to another folder or to a diskette. Download and install this update, then copy the lasrbill.rpt file back into the c:\wbar5\data folder. Do not click on the Bill Form Setup button if using the imbedded graphic file or you will get an error message.
